We have all been painting our nails since we were in elementary school in our dorm rooms, but a good French manicure is one of those nail tricks that’s impossible to do at home.

Yes, nail art is still a popular trend, but the original look from behind is stunning. If you are also addicted to sleek, chic French manicures, which can cost you a month of touch-ups at the salon, then you’re in for a treat.

Follow the Tutorial

Step #1

Remove the Old Nail Polish

First, wash your hands and remove old nail polish with a non-acetone nail polish remover if you have a lighter shade or an acetone nail polish remover for darker shades (acetone can dry out your nails). Use an orange stick, cover the end with cotton, and dip the ends in nail polish remover if necessary.

Step #2

Clip Your Nails

The modern nail shape of the time is a “spade,” which does not mean square or oval. Long, square nails that look fake can be difficult, and very square nails can look dated.

To achieve the perfect burst effect, cut your nails straight. Hold a file and file in one direction so that the corners are slightly rounded.

When you get your nails painted professionally, you’ll see how much prep work is needed to apply the color.

With a little practice, you can do this easy French manicure at home while you sleep:

Step #3

Start with a base coat on the tips of your nails to protect your natural color nail. You’ll see why we only apply it to the edges.

Step #4

Apply white paint only to the tip. It’s okay if it’s a little dirty.

Step #5

Now take a flat brush and nail polish remover and create a curve for the French tip.

Step #6

When performing the French flip, ease the brush to remove the paint. It is best to do this immediately after applying white nail polish to the tip, while the polish is still wet.

Reapply the removed material with the brush to let it dry.

Step #7

You can also use a thin brush and white polish if necessary to add more impact to the edges of your nails. And of course, you can remove excess product from your skin with a makeup remover and a brush.

Step #8

After that, you can use a transparent natural varnish and apply it to the entire nail. Finally, apply a quick-drying top coat to seal your manicure and add a beautiful shine.
